Scientology is a cultthat tries to present itself to people as a normal, everyday religion. This could not be farther from the truth.
The belief system of this religion is based around a "Space Opera" that happened millions of years ago. An evil galactic overlord, Xenu, collected all the billions of people from 76 planets and broght them to earth. Xenu then stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with H bombs. He then implanted their souls with false memories. According to Scientologists, there are a few thousand clusters of these confused souls now in all of our heads. The Church of Scientology has cleverly figured out a way to get rid of these souls. You can pay them a lot of money.
People who do not devote their lives to Scientology are considered to be bad, and Scientology members are told that they should stay far away from them. Thus, Scientologists become isolated from their friends and their families. This is a brainwashing, isolating cult.
Tom Cruise and an estimated 8 to 15 million people* belong to this cult. According to Scientology, you must give them all of your money, get rid of all your friends and family who are not also in Scientology and you must work to recruit other humans to become Scientology members. The more humans you recruit to this cult, the more auditing sessions you can receive for free. Auditing sessions produce a drug like feeling from the E-Meter and vitamins that are used. You can also purchase auditing sessions for around $1,500 an hour. Auditing sessions get you to higher levels in the cult. Tom Cruise is an OT 7. This level gives you the ability to fly and move stuff with your mind.
It is rumored that the highest level in Scientology, OT level 8, informs you that L. Ron Hubbard is your god. The most interesting part of OT8 is that it gives you the ability to kill people with your mind. There is an OT level 15, but Scientologists believe that none of us will ever see it in our lifetime. According to them, OT 15 doesn't happen until sometime in the distant future. Scientology is just like Dungeons and Dragons or any other role playing game, except it is a religion. Because it is a "religion" they don't have to pay taxes.

I think XENU gets a bad rap. Xenu is my homeboy. Here we are on Earth living it up, and he's somewhere on a deserted planet with a magnetic jail cell holding him for all of eternity. All he did was blow up over 13 trillion people with H bombs. Give the guy a break, we all make mistakes. Probably his only real mistake is being the psychedelic dream of Scientology's inventor, L. Turns out this was a rumor provided straight from www.perezhilton.com. I'm glad. Rob Thomas has a hot wife, and I was confused for a while about this one. Turns out he's more offended that he was called a Scientologist than people saying he was caught in bed with Tom Cruise by his wife......kind of funny.
